These stylish aesthetic eco earrings in purple have been hand made using a plastic bottle top cleared off the beach at K’gari [ formerly Fraser Island].  The bottle top has been cut into several pieces to make this pair of unconventional earrings. Flakes of gold leaf, along with swirls of gold dye, have also been added to give a sense of luxury to jewellery crafted from beach trash. These beach litter plastic inclusions have been set in a clear bio resin, which also allows the plastic “trash” to be showcased.  The clear bio resin subsequently allows us to promote more awareness about the amount of plastic waste found washed up on our beaches or discarded in our waterways. These earrings are so light weight [ only weighing approximately 8 grams ] you won’t even know you have them on!! We use bio resin, and also new stainless steel findings, in order to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible. We hand collect, sort and hand wash all the plastic and synthetic waste we use.  All the debris we use has been washed up on our beaches or collected and taken out of our waterways.
